Introduction
Welcome to the 2019-2020 hockey season!
My name is Shannon Jacques and I am the coach for the Blazers Atom C team. I grew up playing ringette and then made the transition to hockey in high school. I have played both college and university hockey and continue to play competitive hockey. I have coached both local league teams and competitive teams in both OMHA and OWHA.
I believe that sports teach us many life lessons both on and off the ice. I will continue to promote skill development, sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork. This is a team sport and should always be developed as team sport. Every player is a vital piece of the puzzle and without every piece, you won't see the true picture. Friendships are built that last a life time. Memories are made that stay with us our whole lives. My position as the coach is to be a positive mentor both on and off the ice, encourage each player to strive to improve their skills and empower each girl as a player, teammate and friend.
I look forward to coaching a great group of girls, meeting and getting to know their parents and helping each one develop goals and work towards them. See everyone tomorrow at tryouts.
