This award is presented to a player based on her skill, talent and impact to the overall teams season. This young lady is all heart and faces challenges head on, regardless if she is beyond her abilities in play, she rises to the challenge and never gives up despite her opponents or circumstances.

    Gabby Ash
    U18C
    As a first time Blazer, Gabby was such a strong addition to our team. She has the speed to beat many players to the puck and was always able to create turnovers. When Gabby faced strong opponents, she never gave up and would always rise to the challenge. She never backed down from any team and always battled hard for the puck. Gabby’s ability to help in both the defensive and offensive zones of the ice was really a treat to watch. Her endurance, drive created many scoring opportunities and wins.
Most Valuable Player

The award is presented to the MVP player that contributes the most to their teams success, She is has the best statistical performance, leadership impact on positive team dynamics and over influence on the out come of games and her team dynamic

    Taryn Sullivan
    U18AA
    Taryn is an excellent skater, with phenomenal hands and a great shot. She plays a physical game which, matched with her high-end skill-set, allows her to score off the rush, off the wall, around players or through them. She is one of the most dangerous goal scorers in the league. She leads on the ice by example, always working hard, being coachable, supporting her teammates and always leaving everything out on the ice. Taryn has been the driving offensive force behind more than a few Blazer wins
Most Beneficial Player

This award is rewarded to the Most Beneficial player of the team. She is as a diverse player who is capable of multiple positions, She is a true utility player, valued for her versatility, reliability and the ability to fill in gaps of the team. She is quick to make decisions adapting to the changing circumstances during games.

    Megan McLachlin
    U18A
    This was Megan’s first year playing Ladies Hockey, played boys hockey until this year. Her work ethic during games caused frustrations from the opponents, rallied the team on the bench because of the effort and desire. We played Meg at every position except goalie, The forward coach and defense coach would tease each other on who had Meg playing for them in any given game. She excelled in practice participating the same way she played, making others to work harder, and compete against her.
Miss Congeniality

The award of Miss Congeniality is presented to a young lady who is the most approachable supportive and kind hearted girl on her team. She is the cheerleader to all the girls rallying the team together in the best and worst of times

    Always has a positive attitude in the dressing room and on the bench. Never complains about ice time! Been a loyal dedicated Blazer and has the gear to show it. Plays the music and gets the girls ready for warm up. Full of smiles!!
It's for the kids

This award is bestowed in appreciation of the volunteers who came together to support the philosophy "it's for the kids". This award goes to a "youth" in our BADGHA community who is sharing the knowledge and skills they learned in their playing years by volunteering and giving back to BADGHA while continuing the love of the game of hockey.

    Sydney Woodford
    U18A
    Sydney volunteered at the fundamental program at 8:00 am every Sunday all year. She found her passion for fun, community through mentoring the fundamentals. Part way through the season Sydney switch her gear from player, to her goalie gear to help the inspiring fundamental goalies get ready for their fun games and learn to take the shots on net. The smiles were contagious, she can't wait to help again next year.
In Memory of John Killough Heart in Midget U18

This award is presented in memory of a member of our community that was all heart. Having heart means demonstrating a strong and unwavering commitment to ones beliefs, goals and values often in the face of adversity. The young lady deserving of the award encompasses qualities of courage, determination, resilience and passion both physically and emotionally. She upholds her values and purse her goals while demonstrating empathy and compassion with her team.

    Maddie Pinnegar
    U18AA
    Maddie has a motor that never stops, putting 100% into every shift. Often the fastest player on the ice, she uses her speed to create offense, relieve pressure in the defensive zone, cause havoc on the forecheck and always be back defensively, causing headaches for opponents. Maddie rounds off her offensive game with good hands and a solid shot with a nose for the net that sees her create a lot of opportunities. Faced with adversity this year with an injury sustained off the ice.
In Memory of Ashley Esler Spirit of Atom U11

This award is presented to a U11 player who has demonstrated sportsmanlike play and has made significant improvement in her hockey skills over the course of the season. This player has been eager to learn and has set an example for his or her teammates by respecting the coaching staff, and team mates and doing her best at all times. This award is presented to the player that, like the person the award is named after, is committed to the spirit of hockey and fosters an inclusive environment.

    Vienna Firth
    U11C
    Vienna is one of the quietest players on the team that always has a smile on her face and is always open to being coached. She started the season as a very timid player and become a confident player willing to play hard and make mistakes. Towards the end of the season we were in situation where we were missing a few defense and asked her to play defense. She agreed without any thought and after a few games and practices became a reliable player who could play forward or defense.
Goaltender of the year

This award is presented to a goaltender who has had the season of all season. She not only has had an amazing season based off the season statistical data, number of shutouts, playoffs, tournament play. She also is out in her community volunteering and providing mentorship with in the association. Her hard work and dedication on and off the ice has been an assets to her team dynamic, she rallies the team with her optimistic "can do" attitude encouraging her team to be at their best.

    Selena Woodford
    U15C
    By statistics alone, Selena had an unbelievable season. 44 - 9 - 11, Her Goals Against Average was well below 1.00. She had well over 30 shutouts, was voted to the WOGHL Allstar game by other coaches in our division. An opposing coach called her “the best goalie in the league and it’s not even close”. But that alone does not make Selena great. Her team spirit and joy of the game are 2nd to none. On the rare occasion we did give up a goal, Selena was often the one picking up her teammates.
Glo Sollner Memorial Award Hockey Mom of the year

The award is presented to a parent that offers their time resources and skills to assist with various activities/tasks with in the BADGHA. Parent volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the association by helping with events, fundraisers, and administrative tasks. they foster positive relationships between parents coaches players and the community. These parents that give their time are like the oil in the machine that keeps it going with out it the machine wouldn't run efficiently.

    Jodi Nutley
    U18C
    Like her daughter, Jodi is aging out of Minor hockey with the Blazers this year. Jodi has put in 15 incredible years with BADGHA and has volunteered thousands of hours to minor sport, making our association become the success it is today. Not a season passed that Jodi didn’t have a hand in its success in some way. She has acted as the treasurer, registrar, coach, assistant coach, trainer and as a Board member and always stepped up for anything she was asked for help with.
Esso award - Most Team Spirit

This award is presented to a player who has demonstrated extraordinary team play and spirit, both in their approach to the game and their attitude towards their teammates. It is awarded to an individual who works hard, shows dedication to their team and their teammates in all circumstances, places the interests of their team and teammates ahead of themselves, who does not complain, perseveres and relies on sportsmanship, on and off the ice, to achieve their goals.

This award is presented to a player who showed the most improvement throughout the season. Every time they stepped on the ice they worked hard to improve their skills and to make themselves better team members. They had a great work ethic, great attitude, and became a role model for teammates to follow. They always showed a ‘never give up’ attitude.

This award is presented to a player who is recognized as the “go-to-person” or the player most relied on by the team for her skill, talent and ability to come through in a difficult situation. It is awarded to the player who the coaching staff believes has consistently demonstrated hard work, shows spirit, sportsmanship and tireless effort and dedication no matter if winning or losing. This player attends most practices and games and works hard the entire time on the ice.

    Mike Reintjes
    U18C
    Mike has been one of the most supportive Dad's I have seen over the years. He has been at as many practices, games, tournaments as possible over the years and always brings positivity and cheer with him. Mike always supported the team and took 100’s of photos that he gladly shared with the parents and BADGHA. Last year, Mike took over the role of managing our Facebook page and did a wonderful job at it. This season, he was able to join the bench with his daughter for her final season.
Citizenship Award

This award recognizes and rewards hockey players who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. This young lady demonstrates their commitment to being responsible respectable and contributing members of the community and to BADGHA. Her behavior and actions are for the betterment of all. She might not always be the stand out leader within her community but she encourages everyone to do their best and to be involved.

    Hayden exemplifies the true spirit of citizenship both on and off the ice, embodying qualities of dependability, service, and leadership within our community and BADGHA. As captain of the U18AA Blazers, she has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment and outstanding skills, leading her team with dedication and tenacity. Beyond her athletic achievements, Hayden's contributions extend to her role as a compassionate and supportive teammate, always willing to lend an ear and offer assistance
Best Playmaker in memory of Howard Row

The best play maker is a young lady that has a keen understanding of the game, she reads the flow of the game effectively and has excellent technical skills. She is a player that excels at creating scoring opportunities for her team during on the ice through their vision of the game, passing ability and decision making skills. She is defiantly that thinks beyond herself, for the best of the team.

    Saydi Hill
    U15C
    Saydi embodies what a Playmaker is. She has skill all over the ice. But her ability to find an open teammate is one of her greatest attributes. Not only is she able to make a crisp, clean pass, she has the patience to wait for her teammates to get open. Her smile is as big after a great assist as when she scores a goal (and she’s great at that too).
